With 30 minutes left it was 6 as Emily Donovan converted from close range to get her second of the game. Less than 5 minutes into the second half Wimbledon further extended their lead as Hannah Billingham scored an incredible lob from over 30 yards whilst close to the touchline.
The game itself saw Wimbledon get off to the perfect start as Rebecca Carters cross was deflected in off a Cambridge defender to give the Dons the lead with less than 5 minutes on the clock. 5 minutes later Wimbledon doubled their lead with Rebecca Carter again involved as her shot hit the post before Emily Donovan scored the rebound. With 5 minutes left there was a fairy tale ending for Angel Fowler who scored an excellent header after a brilliant flick on by Amy Taylor to ensure Angel signed off from the Dons in perfect fashion. There was also confirmation that Faye Baker had kept the most clean sheets in the league meaning she would have won the Golden Glove award. As the final whistle blew with the Dons 8-0 up we had confirmation that Ashlee Hincks had won the league golden boot award adding to the club player of the year award she had won the previous day.
